Andre Onana Wins Premier League Save of the Month for September 2024

Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has been named the winner of the Premier League’s Save of the Month award for September 2024, thanks to his incredible saves against Crystal Palace.

During the match, Onana made two impressive saves. He first dove low to his left to block Eddie Nketiah’s long-range shot, then quickly recovered to stop Ismaila Sarr’s close-range effort, pushing the ball out for a corner.

Legendary Man Utd goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel praised Onana, saying, “He had to react fast, get down, and make a strong save. But the way he recovered was amazing. It was a really good save.”

Onana’s brilliant double save helped Man Utd secure a 0-0 draw at Selhurst Park, giving him one of four clean sheets this season. He now leads the race for the 2024/25 Golden Glove award, given to the goalkeeper with the most clean sheets.

This is Onana’s second time winning the award, as he also claimed it in April for a fantastic save against Burnley. Fans and a panel of experts voted for Onana, beating other top saves from the month.
